By avoiding teh issue and saying that all of Iran is Persian there is a greater problem than we may think! The fact is that no more than 45% of Iran is Persian, the rest being made up of minority groups who are suffering under the brutal regime of the Islamic Republic........Azeris are teh descendents of the Seljuk Turks who entered the area under Chagri Bey in the 11th century. There is not one school in Iran where Azeri children can learn their culture and language! This is ludicrous since it was Azerbaijan which has always been the heart and soul of Iranian civilization, today however the historic feats of the AZERI TURKLER have been wrongfully atributed to the Persians! If one is in doubt of the Turkish origin of Azeris, merely look at Azeri, its syntax, majority of vocabulary, look at the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was severed from Iran in 1827 by the treaty of Turkmenchay and ceded to Russia! The culture of the Republic is Iranian in that the Turks of Iran basically gave the Persians what is today known as Iranian culture! By race however, the Turk aspect is very clear in the population of Azerbaijan, which is a mixture of Medes(present day Kurds) and the Turks who settled the region! Turkey is Turkey, we are dealing with Azerbaijan! So I suggest you learn what you are talking about before you say it! Furthermore, Azerbaijan is the breadbasket of Iran as well as its cultural heart. It is about time that all Azeri Turkler united and realized that if the butchers of Tehran cannot give us the conditions necessary for a decent life we must rise up and make our presence known, we can survive without Iran but Iran is dead without us! The historical truth of Azeri Turkler contributions to Iran must be made known and clear to all! Those of you who criticize and scoff do so out of your own dehati fear and ignorance! You make jokes and laugh but in your eyes you have envy for our blood and our looks! If Iran is to not parish it needs to give rights to all of its peoples and not just the majority......... Please stop arguing about the name Azerbaijan being older than the Turk presence and the fact that the area was settled since earliest times! We know!!!!! Look at the country today and how it shaped what is Iranian culture, until the dehati revolution that is....oh, and the Azeri Turkler were for a socialist republic to follow the monarchy, the present system is a dehati Persian product!
