Jamshid, it is not that difficult to search the backgrounds of all these so called reformers and it is not that hard to prove their guilt and in due time that will probably happen. I do not disagree that there have been changes but artificial changes, a girl dare to wear make up or a colorfull chador or a uniform . Take a look at press today and the so called editors in chief of all the closed down publications, without exception all of them have been part of the same system and the reason they were allowed to publish in the first place and inflicted the same despotism on others. Jalalipor defended the 59 naghadeh Kurds executions in Berlin Conference and said that is different, read the transcripts. Unfortunately, Ordinary Iranian have been a mere observers to the fight between old Khat-Imam (reformers) and the so called hardliners. You may want to answer my question that is there a legal (constitutional) way to modify or better abolish the core ofall problems "Vali Vaghih" and its legal and illegal branches. The constitution clearly indicates that this concept can not be changed even through anational referendum. Vali Vaghih is mandated by God to protect the "safih" incapable muslim poulation. And let's not forget that every thing passed by Majlis must be ratified by council of guardian. So what else is left to reform. Nothing will be reformable and changed until this vital issue being addressed and that is what Khatami desperately tries to protect. Most people are day dreaming and are still drunk by a short lived euphoria without which we would have had an explosion by now. Khatami's approach is neither pragmatism nor protectionist but a person who as Iranian say trys to chew from both side of his mouth but in favor of status quo. There is no other way to approch the deteriating social and economical conditions of Iran and Khatami's goverment has shown over and over that it is not capable of being a transitional goverment to a democratic Iran.
